Apollo Bay is at the very centre of an exciting touring region which includes the Great Ocean Road and the Great Otway National Park. There are lots of things to see and do around and about while staying in the township.
Only a 10 minute drive inland from the township of Apollo Bay along the Barham River Valley road are the tree fern gullies of Paradise. Along the way are some fantastic spots to enjoy a picnic.
The roadside scenery is so attractive that newly married couples often have their wedding photographs taken in this vicinity. At the end of the Barham Valley Road is a car park at the start of an easy to moderate 40 minute return walk along the river to Marriners Falls. You will cross over large stepping stones at 4 creek crossings and view magnificent tree ferns, lichens and mosses, with a close view of the falls.
Note: Track is subject to flooding at times, take care after rain.
